Wake Up Geek Culture: Time to Die  →
In Japan, the word otaku refers to people who have obsessive, minute interests—especially stuff like anime or videogames. It comes from a term for “someone else’s house”—otaku live in their own, enclosed worlds. Or, at least, their lives follow patterns that are well outside the norm. Looking back, we were American otakus. (Of course, now all America is otaku—which I’m going to get into...

Aren't we all
Interviewer: Did you hear t.A.T.u's version of 'How Soon Is Now'?
Morrissey: Yes, it was magnificent. Absolutely. Again, I don't know much about them.
Interviewer: They're the teenage Russian lesbians.
Morrissey: Well, aren't we all?

The guy is a musical sensation. I recon if he picked up a bar of soap he could probably strum out a tune on it.

6 Months Until Glastonbury.
Six months today I will probably be drunk. The music will have just finished and I shall be wondering aimlessly across the Tipi field, surveying the fairy light twinkling of the site and talking to strangers trying to sell me vodka jelly (which I’ll gladly accept). I will be happy. Just need to get all this winter stuff over and done with first.
